Born and raised in Hyde County, Lloyd Williams is the son of Lee and Gloria Williams. Growing up on the water, he worked as a commercial fisherman from elementary school through law school. Those early years taught him the value of hard work, perseverance, and community. His faith and family values continue to guide his life today.

A Strong Foundation in Law
Lloyd studied at UNC-Chapel Hill and Beaufort County Community College before earning his Criminal Justice degree from East Carolina University. He went on to receive his law degree from Campbell University and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2004. With over 20 years of legal experience, Lloyd began his career with the Pitt County Public Defender’s Office before serving 19 years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Second Prosecutorial District. He has handled tens of thousands of cases, including DWIs, domestic violence, drug offenses, felony assaults, sex offenses, and homicides, appearing in both District and Superior Courts across all five counties.

Known for his fairness, decency, and knowledge of the law, Lloyd has earned respect from judges, defense attorneys, law enforcement, and courtroom staff alike. He serves as the Lead Prosecutor for the Recovery Treatment Court and is a Past President of the Second Judicial District Bar. His career reflects a dedication to justice, accountability, and protecting the community.

Outside the courtroom, Lloyd is an active member of Sladesville Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and restoring boats, staying true to his Hyde County roots. Lloyd’s campaign is built on Integrity and Experience. He is a member of the NRA and a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights.
